Guys.
I forgot to take a picture today.
I'm sorry :/
Good things on the 13th of January:
- Going to classes today.
- Seeing this cute guy in my speech class.
- Going to dinner with my roommate and actually managing to kind of keep a conversation going. This really is a big accomplishment.
- Watching The Office some more this afternoon
- Reading Walk 13.
Obviously, I didn't do much today.
However, my day didn't seem empty.
I guess when I put it on paper, what I did doesn't seem like much.
So today's Bible reading was about Joseph.
The beginning of his life was kind of awful.
His brothers sold him into slavery and then faked his death.
But then it gets good when God blesses him in everything he does in Egypt, so his master likes him and promotes him a lot basically.
Then things turn bad again when his master's wife tries to get him to sleep with her.
He refuses.
She lies.
Joseph gets thrown in jail and forgotten about by a guy he helps there.
But you know,
God keeps blessing him through all of that because Joseph loves God and obeys him.
I want to marry a guy like Joseph.
Not only does he have a great relationship with God,
but he's modest and faithful.
Listen to this:
"Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, and after a while his master's wife took notice of Joseph and said, 'Come to bed with me!'
But he refused. 'With me in charge,' he told her, 'my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?' And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her."
Doesn't that just make your heart swoon a little?
Don't you wish that you could find someone who was so pure like that,
that he even refused to be near her?
In this day and age, modesty seems to be out the door.
I feel like the general attitude is for men to glorify a woman's body.
And if you find some reasoning for it, stealing another man's wife or cheating on the one you have is acceptable.
It's sick.
But then.
You find those guys who are like Joseph.
They have modesty and respect for women.
And not just for women in general,
but they have respect for the women who put themselves out there.
Like,
this one person in my church told me a story of how a guy she knew physically turned his body around to make sure he wasn't tempted into watching the indecency of a Victoria's Secret commercial.
Yes, that may seem a bit extreme when you could just turn the channel.
But still.
Doesn't that just make you become a hopeless romantic?
To find a perfect guy out there.
You know,
a lot of the times when I feel lonely
or when I feel like my Life Plan B of becoming a cat lady is actually going to become a reality,
I pray to God for my future husband.
I pray that I'll have one.
I pray that he'll be funny,
intelligent,
handsome.
I pray that God will guide his life through whatever he's doing right now.
I pray that he'll have a wonderful relationship with God.
I think I'll start adding this:
God, I pray that my future husband is a Joseph. That he'll always follow you and be blessed by you. That he has the respect for women and love for me to refuse and distance himself from any temptations.
Yeah, that will be nice to add :)

OH! I guess since I didn't take any pictures today, I'll leave you with some pictures of my family. I was missing them a lot today, so it's appropriate.
