Walk 14

January 14th was a pretty good day.
For the most part.
I'll share the good and then tell you the bad.

Good things on the 14th of January:

  • Waking up really late.
  • Going to eat lunch in the Cafeteria with Savannah.
  • Going back to her room and watching an episode of Danny Phantom on Netflix.
  • Going to Taco Bell for dinner with Savannah and her boyfriend Bradley.
  • Being kidnapped to Bradley's room after dinner to watch a movie.
  • Watching Matilda and Coraline on ABC family.

Then the bad things kind of start there.
Walter decided that he wanted to get really full.
Stupidly, I decided that I was going to ignore him and wait until I got back to my room to empty him.
Obviously, I wasn't aware that I was going to be out from 6 p.m. until midnight.
I should've just emptied him when we arrived at Bradley's dorm.
But,
no.
I didn't.
I was dumb.
So at probably around 11, Walter decides that he wants to open up.
Well, Walter in this sense being the bag that covers him.
See, there's this plastic bandaid/sticker thing that you stick to your skin.
From here you have the option to have a "one-part system" or a "two-part system".
A one part system means that the bag that everything goes into is attached to the thing you put on your belly.
A two part system means that the bag is detachable from the sticky part.
I have a one-part system.
So the amount of gas inside Walter's bag made the sticky part start to unstick.
Which means I started to smell gross fumes and gave up my pride to excuse myself to go to the bathroom to empty Walter.
Because he smells so bad, I don't like to empty Walter in public places.
Or basically anywhere besides the privacy of my living space.
Since the part that pulled up wasn't a lot,
I figured I could just tape all around the edges with this special tape the wound ostomy nurse gave me.
Annddddd.....
The rest of the story continues on the post about January 15th.

So, Walk 14 was really good.
It was another one of those overview devotions.

Look back.
"Over the past week you have read about... four different men, four different sets of circumstances, but one thing in common: a faith in God that grew with the years."

Look up.
"Definitions of faith are plentiful and at times helpful. Here are just a few. Faith is:
  • Forsaking All, I Trust Him
  • Taking God at his word
  • Seeing the promises of God as present realitites
  • Living your life in such a way that it makes sense only because God exists"

     Look ahead.
"You can't get physically fit in a day, nor can you develop the faith of a Jacob or a Joseph overnight. But you ca see your faith grow and deepen each day as you face life's challenges in the strength of the Lord."

I really, really really really like that quote at the bottom of Look up.
I guess that's why I underlined it, heh.
But,
that's such an awesome statement and definition of faith.
I love it.
There's this quote from The Hunger Games series that I really love.
I put it on that piece of artwork I did a few days back.
Anyways, I think a part of it can relate to that definition of faith and being a Christian.

"I am as radiant as the sun."

Shouldn't we, as Christians, be as radiant as the sun when it comes to showing our love for Christ?
If we truly are "living your life in such a way that it makes sense only because God exists", shouldn't we shine as bright as the sun?
Shouldn't we be the ones who light up the world,
and make the dark run?
Shouldn't we be vibrant, bold, beautiful, and radiant?
Shouldn't others look at us and wonder what's different about us?
He's been getting a lot of flack lately,
But praise the Lord for Tim Tebow.
The media has tried to find every excuse but the one real reason why Tebow has had so much success in his career.
It's kind of sad actually, how they refuse to believe it.
Anyways, I'm proud of Tim Tebow for shining God's light in this world and for staying true to his faith even though people have mocked him for it.
I also like the look ahead section.
For anyone that feels down about the challenge of strengthening their faith and developing a relationship with God,  it's really a superb encourager.

I hope today you have a lovely day :)
