So...
I don't have that much to say here,
because I kind of just poured out my heart into another post.
It's titled Forever Alone.
You should go check it out,
you know,
if you like all that mushy, romantic-y hopelessness.
That's what I thought.
Good things on the 18th of January:
Me in the HEC office!
The challenge: to shred the paper that was making this box full. Note: this is the after picture.
The completed challenge: four trash bags full of shredded paper.
- Going to classes this morning.
- Catching up on my blogging. Woooo whooo!!! I am officially caught up. I guess you could tell that by the, what? four blog posts on January the 18th.
- Going to work in the Human Ecology office this semester. Yay for emptying a box of papers by SHREDDING for THREE HOURS STRAIGHT. Oh, you gotta love office work.
- Catching up on Pretty Little Liars while eating Au Bon Pain for dinner. Yep, I walked nearly all the way across campus for some Au Bon Pain.
- Having a movie party in Rachel's room. We watched Easy A! I love that movie, it's so funny!
So today's Walk started the book of Exodus!
Yay me, Yay us!!
It started off with the life of Moses.
This dude was pretty blessed by God in his early life.
So after Joseph and all his brothers and that whole generation died,
that Pharaoh died too.
Consequently,
a new Pharaoh stepped in.
And man,
this guy was a newbie.
He obviously didn't know his history enough to know what Joseph had done for the previous Pharaoh.
You would think if he lived in Egypt at all in his life he would know that.
Anyways,
the newbie felt threatened by the Israelites,
so he enslaved them.
However, God blessed them by making them have more babies.
So newbie here felt threatened and ordered the midwives of Egypt to kill all the baby boys.
When they didn't,
newbie instructed everyone to kill the baby Hebrew boys.
So Moses's mommy gave birth to Moses and hid him at home for three months.
Finally, she couldn't hide him any longer,
so she made a basket for him and hid him in the reeds in the river.
God looked out for Moses, however,
and the newbie Pharaoh's daughter found him.
So Moses was raised as the Pharaoh's daughter's son.
Oh, I forgot to mention that Moses's real mom was the woman who nursed him for the Pharaoh's daughter,
so I'm sure he knew all about his heritage.
Since he knew he was Hebrew,
when Moses saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew,
he killed the Egyptian.
Pharaoh eventually found out,
and Moses fled.
And that's basically where we are in the story!
Being raised in church,
I know most of the story of Moses's life,
and I know there's great blessings and works of God still to come in Moses's life,
so be on the lookout soon!
