Walk 19

I finally got around to watching the movie I bought the other day!
I like it!
Have I mentioned that Channing Tatum is supah fine?
Well...
he is.
Deal with it.
And just stare at his muscles.
What?
Huh?
I don't think I said that.
I also didn't just say that Alex Pettyfer is one fine man either.
Who said that? Certainly not me!
You, my friend, are imagining things.
You crazy, you!
We'll call a psychiatric hotline.
Just kidding!
Because honestly,
I probably need it more than you.
Okay, I think it's time to move on, cause this conversation is getting a teensy bit awkward.
And it's all my fault.

Good things on the 19th of January:

Because this is my blog and I can, I added along a couple of pictures of myself! Enjoy! haha :)

  • Actually going to my chemistry class this morning.
  • Taking care of business. And by that, I mean that I finally got a permit and Chemistry 1020 is back on my schedule. Praise the Lord!
  • Eating Au Bon Pain for lunch. I really love that place.
  • Finally getting to relax a bit in my dorm room at 2 in the afternoon. I had been running around since before 8 a.m. and had literally criss-crossed campus about four times running errands today.
  • Watching She's the Man finally!
  • Drawing a cartoon picture of Walter and his friend Gabby. Who's Gabby you ask? Well, one day my Mom texted me something about "gab", and I asked her what that was. Turns out, it's her name for Walter's bag. Get it, gab is bag spelled backwards. So, I turned gab into Gabby.
  • Drawing some pictures to send to my friend Celeste at Rhodes.

So Walk 19 was all about Moses!
It encompassed the story of the burning bush,
and God charging Moses with asking Pharaoh to let the Israelites go.
It kind of amazes me,
how wimpy Moses was.
I know he sucks it up eventually,
but he was the king of excuses.
Listen to this:
"Moses said to the Lord, 'O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.'
The Lord said to him, 'Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.'
But Moses said, 'O Lord, please send someone else to do it.'
Then the Lord's anger burned against Moses and he said, 'What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well.'"
Man.
It hits me though.
Aren't we all like Moses 95% of the time?
Isn't the Lord always promising us that everything will be okay and work out, because He is in control of it, yet we still hesitate?
Why?
Right above God just told us that
He is in control
of everything.
He tells us that He can give us the bravery and the eloquence to do His work on Earth.
Yet we still,
we always still,
ask Him to let it be someone else.
I personally have this problem a lot.
Why do we have so little faith?
But the funny thing is,
God will work His plan no matter what.
God is still going to use Moses,
even though he is trying to back out of it.
God will still use you,
and I,
even if we hesitate and say "not me".
However,
He'll have to drag us into it, one way or another.
It's so much simpler if we just open ourselves up from the beginning
and say "Okay."
If we just obey and not hesitate to do God's will,
everything will go much more smoother.
If you look above,
God gets angry that Moses won't choose to do all that God asks of him.
Let's not anger God.
Let's do things the first time we're told.
Let's do the right thing,
because then you know God will bless it.
And He'll give you the strength
and courage
and bravery
and speech
and eloquence
to do whatever He's asking of you.
I want to have the faith to do things the first time God calls me to do them.
I don't want to hesitate.
I love this movie called The Swan Princess.
In it, there's this song they sing about having no fear.
Of course, in the movie the song relates to the characters having no fear of stealing a map to get Odette back to Prince Derek, but we can still apply it.
They list all the dangers and things they have to do to obtain this map
and it's all dangerous,
but they know they can do it because they've teamed up
and now it's time to have no fear.
If we team up with God,
we know that we can do anything through Him.
He promises us that.
Now we know that we've got the tools,
so let's have no fear of doing God's work here on Earth.
