Walk 4

Hey.
I have an idea...
Let's write in big letters!
Or even better...
Let's write in bigger letters!
Okay?
Cool.

Good things of today:
  • Having cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
  •  Reading the article The Death of Pretty (which I posted earlier for you to read).
  • Going for a walk/jog.
  • Reading Walk 4.
  • Cleaning the bathroom.

I also did some not fun things today. I guess I can list them too.
But in small type. Cause they weren't so fun.
Bad things of today:
  • Feeling fat, out of shape, and slightly nauseous when I tried to run any sort of distance today.
  • Breaking one of the side clamps on Mom's new griddle/grill and then trying to fix it with super glue. I don't know if it truly is fixed, because we haven't tried to put the cooking plate things back on it yet.
  • Forgetting to take a photo of something uniquely good about today :/ All I have is a picture of today's devotional.
  • Cleaning the bathroom.

Yes, as you probably noticed, cleaning the bathroom is on both lists. I really hate to do it and I hate smelling the chemicals in the cleaners, but it gives me a sense of accomplishment. Also, dirty bathrooms are utterly nasty. Trust me, I would know. I've been in almost every bathroom imaginable due to Ulcerative Colitis. Plus, I was just THAT kid when I was little.
Yeah, the one that just had to go pee in every public bathroom.
My mother loved me.

So today's reading was about the tower of Babel basically and all the jazz that surrounded that event in the Bible, or Genesis chapters 10-11. It was interesting to read about how all these different languages got started and whatnot. At dinner tonight we were talking a bit about today's devotional, and Mom brought up a good point about man being intelligent. However, it needs just a tad bit of an introduction.
Last night at dinner we talked a bit about that day's devotional. Dad was saying how one of his friends has a... theory, if you will about Noah. He thinks that, or it wouldn't surprise him if Noah and the people of his time has some sort of powered machinery. Man was created intelligent, so why not have some sort of invention like that? We eventually thought of it, so why would it seem so impossible that they could have thought of it before us and the technology just have been wiped out by the flood? It certainly would have made building the ark easier, because with the specifications the ark had, that would've been a huge job even with tools. Dad's friend thinks that's why Noah got so drunk after the ark landed, because he lost all the tools he may have had.
I dunno, it's an interesting theory.
Anyways, Mom's point was about Genesis 11:6 - "The Lord said 'If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.'"
If you're wondering how this is going to tie together, I'm aiming for a common point on the subject of man always being really intelligent.
However, it would make sense for man to be smart, and not just "become" smart like scientists want us to believe with the Neanderthals.
Think about it.
Adam had to be smart to name all the animals. Noah had to be smart to have the tools to construct an ark to such exact dimensions and it still be able to be watertight for nearly a year. The people of Babel had to be smart to even come up with some architectural plan that they thought would reach to the heavens. The people of Babel may have been smart, but they weren't using it for God. They were using it to try to become mightier themselves.

Isn't it funny how, when we believe we've become "smarter", all we've done is digressed from any remains of glory we used to have. We pride ourselves in all the "intelligent accomplishments" we've achieved. Men used to live close to a thousand years and the Earth used to be so different.
If we're so "smart", then why haven't we found a way to live as long as man used to?
I'll tell you why.
Because we're trying to leave God out of it.
Nothing can be done that way though. For anything to work, it needs God.
Literally anything.
However, men are trying to force God out of everything.
People wonder why stuff on the Earth is so crappy... ha.
All we need is God.
And people just need to realize that.

P.S. I'm really sorry about the post for January 4th being posted in the wee hours of January 5th. I'll try harder tomorrow, I promise! I actually started writing around 10 p.m. but I got caught up in Google searching theories about Noah. I was trying to find one like Dad's friend had mentioned. I didn't research enough though to find any that matched because I got sidetracked researching the Nephilim. But man oh man... there is some crap out there being spread by people who don't believe in God. It's... well it's pathetic really. They spout stuff that's completely untrue. It amazes me how some people just don't comprehend God's love. And when I say don't comprehend, it's because they are ignorant, not because God's love is too big and great for our minds to wrap around. In the sense of God's love being too great, I don't anyone can truly comprehend that. Anyways, back to the main point. I'll try harder on publishing posts on the day they're actually about.
